KSlight controls the keyboard lighting. It is intended for the Treo 650 smartphone only. This version will turn the keyboard lights off on startup. It will toggle the keyboard lights whenever the associated icon is tapped, and then return to the previous application. If assigned to the side button, this will more or less duplicate the functionality of the "full" keyshades. However, since it is launched as a new application instead of working in the background, in some cases you will lose the state of your current application when you switch the keyboard lights. The main adavntage of this approach is reduced overhead; KSlight does not need to hook the event queue, and therefore it doesn't affect the system's response time at all when it is not actively being used. I recommend using the full keyshades application instead if overhead is not an issue for you. KSlight will read the current state of the lights before toggling them, rather than using an internally-maintained state. Hitting the side button will therefore always toggle the keyboard lights. This means that Keyshades should now "play nice" with other applications that set the keyboard backlights based on other criteria, such as Twilight. -- Daniel Grobe Sachs 15-June-2005
