Daniel Grobe Sachs

I'm an embedded software engineer with a research background. I currently work for Motorola Solutions in the Public Communication Radio Accessories group at their headquarters in Schaumburg, IL.

I've worked on a wide variety of projects, both in school and in my career after graduation. If you're interested, you can look at my resume and some information on my student projects.

My graduate studies were done with the GRACE group at the University of Illinois under the guidance of Douglas L. Jones. I completed my doctoral dissertation on the topic of power management for laptops running multimedia video encoder in May 2006. My master's thesis, which I completed in 2000, was on the topic of joint source-channel selection of RCPC and Reed-Solomon codes for optimal PSNR in lossy wireless networks. A list of my publications can be found on my publications page.

I've written or otherwise worked on some Treo software.

I also do some photography. You can see my pictures in our gallery, though I haven't put new ones up for far too long.
